First, what do the entries to the left mean?
For example, what does "Numbers 13:30" mean? In most books, and the
Bible is no exception, there will be an index so you can find things more
easily. The Bible index has 2 sections called the Old Testament
(before Jesus was born) and the New Testament (after Jesus was born).
"Numbers" is the name of the Book (think of it as a "book chapter name"); 13
is the chapter number in the Book of "Numbers"; "30" is the sentence (or
paragraph) number. Hope this
helps! -

11.
. . so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
6 . . . Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near. |
| Numbers 13:30 |
Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, "We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it." |
| Deuteronomy 18:21-22 |
You may say to yourselves, "How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the LORD?"
If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him. |
|
Isaiah 2:2-3 |
"In the last days the mountain of
the LORD's temple will be established as chief among the mountains; it will be raised
above the hills, and all nations will stream to it.
Many peoples will come and say, "Come, let us go up to the
mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that
we may walk in his paths." The law will go out from Zion, the word of the LORD from
Jerusalem." |

Psalms 130:3 |
"If you, O LORD, kept a record of sins, O Lord, who could stand?" |
Psalms 66:12
Psalms 66:16-20
|
we went through fire and
water, but you brought us to a place of abundance.
"Come and listen,
all you who fear
God; let me tell you what he has done for me.
I cried out to him with my mouth; his praise was on my tongue.
If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened;
but God has surely listened and heard my voice in prayer.
Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love
from me!" |
|
2Chronicles 7:14 |
"if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my
face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their
sin and will heal their land." |
| Joel
1:14 |
Declare a holy fast;
call a sacred assembly. Summon the elders and all who live in the land to
the house of the LORD your God, and cry out to the LORD. |
Luke 4:
16-21 |
He <Jesus> went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he
went into the synagogue, as was his custom. And he stood up to read.
The scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he
found the place where it is written:
"The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to
preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and
recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed,
to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor."
Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant and sat
down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him,
and he began by saying to them, "Today this scripture is fulfilled
in your hearing." |

Luke
7:1-10 |
"
When Jesus had finished saying all this in the hearing of the people, he entered
Capernaum.
There a centurion's servant, whom his master valued highly, was sick
and about to die.
The centurion heard of Jesus and sent some elders of the Jews to him,
asking him to come and heal his servant.
When they came to Jesus, they pleaded earnestly with him, "This
man deserves to have you do this, because he loves our nation and has built our
synagogue."
So Jesus went with them. He was not far from the house when the
centurion sent friends to say to him: "Lord, don't trouble yourself, for I do not
deserve to have you come under my roof.
That is why I did not even consider myself worthy to come to you.
But
say the word, and my servant will be healed.
For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell
this one, 'Go,' and he goes; and that one, 'Come,' and he comes. I say to my servant, 'Do
this,' and he does it."
When Jesus heard this, he was amazed at him, and turning to the crowd
following him, he said, "I tell you, I have not found such great faith even in
Israel."
Then the men who had been sent returned to the house and found the
servant well." |
Matt 11:
28-30 |
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and
I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in
heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.". . . Jesus |
|
Luke
12:8-9 |
"I tell you, whoever acknowledges me before men, the
Son of Man will also acknowledge him before the angels of God.
But he who disowns me before men will be disowned
before the angels of God" . . . Jesus |

John
10:31-39 |
"Again the Jews picked up stones to stone him,
but Jesus said to them, "I have shown you many great miracles from
the Father. For which of these do you stone me?"
"We are not stoning you for any of these," replied the Jews,
"but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man,
claim to be God."
Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your Law, 'I have said
you are gods'?
If he called them 'gods,' to whom the word of God came-- and the
Scripture cannot be broken--
what about the one whom the Father set apart as his very own and sent
into the world? Why then do you accuse me of blasphemy because I said, 'I am God's Son'?
Do not believe me unless I do what my Father does.
But if I do it, even though you do not believe me, believe the
miracles, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the
Father."
Again they tried to seize him, but he escaped their grasp." |
|
John
14:2-3 |
"In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am
going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am." . . . Jesus |

Rev
3:20 |
"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If
anyone hears
my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me."

Romans 10:8-13 |
.
. . "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that
is, the word of faith we are proclaiming:
That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord,"
and
believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is
with your mouth that you confess and are saved.
As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will
never be put
to shame."
For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile-- the same Lord is
Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him,
for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be
saved." |

Revelation
4:8 |
"Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come." |
| Revelation 19:11-13 |
I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war.
His eyes are like blazing
fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself.
He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. |
|
Revelation 22:20-21 |
He who testifies to these things says,
"Yes, I am coming soon." Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.
The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God's people. Amen |
