Thousands coming to faith
in Connecticut at a multi-day Luis Palau meeting; dozens in Rhode Island
at a similar event; in Boise, Idaho, 100,000 people attend a 2 day Palau
meeting with clear presentations of the Gospel; 15,000 people in
Managua, Nicaragua receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of their
lives. In India Christianity becomes a choice for Dalits
(untouchables). Up to 20,000 young men will hear God's clear
call on their lives in Columbus a few days hence. Prayer warriors
look to cover every campus in Massachusetts with ongoing prayer.
Men waking up to songs of praise at a local Rescue Mission and the devil
is thrown out the door; removed from their midst as God answers the
prayers of many!
Has another great revival begun? May it be so! Pray.
Ray
Will you not revive us again,
that your people may rejoice in you? Show us your unfailing love, O LORD,
and grant us your salvation. Psalms 85:6-7

Revived
people believe that Jesus is coming in their generation . . .
. . . and evangelists believe that Jesus will return this week.
.
. . Dr. Jack Hayford speaking at Congress 2000 on February 5, 2000 in
Boston, MA |
On January 2, 2000 my family received and watched the video that
"Promise Keepers" sent out to 302,000 churches across America called "Hope For A New
Millennium" <Copyright 1999 Promise Keepers> The
remarkable thing about the video is that the target audience is the Church
in the United States! The church
in the US has become barely distinguishable from the culture around
it. In fact, according to George Barna, the divorce rate for those
who attend church is now slightly higher than for those who do not attend
church. This sad state of affairs, and other similar statistics,
prompted the Promise Keeper's video effort.
More and more people are searching for truth and spirituality, especially
in the wake of the disasters of September 11, 2001 in New York,
Washington, DC and Philadelphia. There are now 3 basic kinds of
"christian" churches in the United States:
|
- Christian Churches which proclaim completely
only God's truth as taught in the Holy Bible
- churches which teach a portion of
what God says in the Holy Bible and substitute their own wisdom for
the parts they do not agree with
- "churches" which say you
need to read another book along with the Bible in order to
understand the Bible. Some have even mistranslated the Bible
to make it say what they want it to say. (example: jehovah's
witnesses "new
world translation" and Zondervan
Publication's "todays new international version")
|
The
condition
of the overall Church in the United States is so worldly and far from
God that the USA now has more missionaries from foreign countries coming
here than any other
country in the world (except Brazil)
|
| As for me and my household (Joshua
24:15), we have covenanted this day to pray "for our Father to send revival
to the Church and spiritual awakening to our nation so that Christ’s
Great commission might be fulfilled worldwide in our generation."
We will pray every day at
12:29 PM (USA-Eastern Standard Time) starting
Monday,
January 2, 2000. If you would like to covenant
with us to pray at noon time (your local time) let us know by e-mail and we will also pray for
your prayer concerns daily during this time.

November 30, 2000 update
I continue to pray daily for a spiritual awakening in our
nation and revival of the church. Also for people who
think of themselves as being "Christian" but do not have any
idea of what a Christian is.
I see, at times, evidence of outbreaks of God's Spirit. God's
presence, sometimes palpable on a daily basis, is my great strength and
His Word, truly, is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. Pray
that God would give me His words when speaking to those who are far from
Christ.
Ray
Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.
