John 3:16

Sept. 11, 2001

Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them slip from your heart as long as you live.
Deuteronomy 4:9

Did you know that both the RI State Flag and State Seal have an "Anchor" and the word "Hope" in them?  These two items come from the Holy Bible in the Book of Hebrews, chapter 6, verse 19 where it says "We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure." The "hope" and "anchor" are one and the same:
 The Lord Jesus Christ.

As I rounded the corner you could see the lines out there - not huge but definite surf.  The waves arrived on Friday (yesterday - big and meaty) but I had previous obligations so had to wait until Saturday morning.  Got to the parking lot about 8:15 AM, (about an hour after sun rise) and shot film for maybe a half hour. It was goin' off!  Solid head hi sets and fast - mostly "short boardable" stuff. Winds were 10-15K off shore.
When you're shooting in the direction of the sun in the early morning it's a bit of a challenge to get good quality pictures.  Tide was high; sets were not that consistently lining up and there were a number of occasional close outs. So, the word of the day was "Don't go to sleep out there."
<-- Lefts were occasionally the order of the day.
A partial cover up here right after the take off.  Nice move. -->
<-- This shot and the next one (below) were different waves.  Water is in the mid-forties (F) - not that cold yet but definitely cooling down.  Cool water and hot waves . . .
Fast . . . and keep your head down! -->

It was really noisy on shore where I was shooting due to the high water and all the rocks being moved around.
Haven't seen many kayaks out there lately . . . and not a whole lot of boogie boards either.  A short way from this break there were a lot of long boards but the shorts ruled this break on this morning.  Hope you enjoyed the pictures!
