John 3:16

Sept. 11, 2001

Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them slip from your heart as long as you live.
Deuteronomy 4:9

Did you know that both the RI State Flag and State Seal have an "Anchor" and the word "Hope" in them?  These two items come from the Holy Bible in the Book of Hebrews, chapter 6, verse 19 where it says "We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure." The "hope" and "anchor" are one and the same:
 The Lord Jesus Christ.

Welcome to the RIRiders Home Page!

We are a group of local Rhode Island surfers dedicated to the sport of surfing in RHODE ISLAND, USA.  We surf the edge of the day - at dawn, dusk, in the storm swells, in the unannounced swells that show up in the winter.  We believe that if you love surfing then the stick you use is a non-issue. We have no advertisements, commercials, passwords, exclusive memberships, or "premium services".  This whole domain is "premium" and a completely free Rhode Island surfing site.

Other sites use scripts to tie into automated ocean forecasts written by farmers in hardened bunkers in Kansas who have never seen salt water, much less look out the window on Saturday. Not us!  We give you the real thing.
If you're often on the road way before dawn just for the outside chance that your favorite Rhode Island surfing secret spot might be firing despite the small craft warnings and 20 degree (F) temperature then you just might be at the right place. Then again, if you like mid-day, sunny, above freezing, incoming head high swells come on in too!  The surf reports 2009 page is updated often and is a continuously running log of the quest for the perfect wave and a personal blog about the chase
. (Archived 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004, 2003, 2002, 2001, 2000, 1999 and earlier blogs are available).

Pictures (unless otherwise identified) are all taken in
RHODE ISLAND.  We show you pictures of real waves - the kind you might actually encounter yourself on a surfing trip locally!

We're interested in you: who you are, how you found us, what you think about the web site, suggestions, what's on your mind, send us a favorite Rhode Island surfing picture, etc.  Write us at
webmaster/at/QuietWaters.org and tell us how you're doing!  Due to robots, spiders, etc. we have intentionally not put up a direct (one click) email link here but a quick copy/edit/paste and you can get it done!  For FAQs go here.

This portion of QuietWaters.org is dedicated to Rhode Island water men and women who know what it is like to really live and actively participate in this life we have been given by the Creator of the Universe.
We do not accept any paid advertising and, since 10/18/99, do not link to businesses (bricks and mortar types) as well as virtual (web sites) which, to our knowledge, directly support surf cams.  However, despite our philosophical differences with cam supporters, once we get into the water we leave that baggage on shore and focus on the waves.
For occasional articles of interest to surfers that are the result of spur of the moment angst check out the surfing X-Files for those surf junkies who carefully investigate parts of web pages where very few others bother to venture.
On March 11, 2002 we added another 90 meg of storage for the QuietWaters.org Rhode Island surfing domain!  That has translated, over time, to more pictures and stories and encouragement for those who seek Truth.
