| Everyone
has a different way of describing wave height. In Rhode Island, we use the terms
waist, shoulder, head high, overhead, etc. instead of measuring the
"face" or similar. This avoids inflating wave size by
relating wave height to someone standing up. Examples of each of
these is shown below. Poorer quality photos are frame grabs from an
ancient video camera while the better quality pictures are scanned from color
prints. Hope you enjoy them! |
