It is hard to find peace that lasts.  Peace that is enduring.  Peace in the middle of a storm. Peace that lasts beyond this short life time. Peace that is eternal.  I recently (11/06/02) talked with a young man who had found peace right now in his life in a religion other than Christianity. He had even been able to stop smoking.  It is very hard to stop smoking, isn't it? This brochure is all about how to find peace of an entirely different kind: peace with God.  Peace that is not temporary but is eternal.  God wants us to have His peace forever but our sin gets in the way.  God provided the Cross as a way for us to accept Jesus and receive Jesus into our hearts right now to forgive our sin and shame and be fully restored to God. This is Good News because we can be forgiven by God himself if we want to be!  "And what is it that God has said? That he has given us eternal life and that this life is in his Son. So whoever has God's Son has life; whoever does not have his Son, does not have life. I have written this to you who believe in the Son of God so that you may know you have eternal life." 1 John 5:11-14 (TLB)  We have peace with God only through belief in Jesus Christ.  Why only Jesus?  Because only Christ lived a perfect life without sin. Because he died and rose from the dead to overcome death.  Because God gave his one and only Son to pay our sin debt in full to God. To all who receive Jesus, to those who believe in his name, he gives the right to become children of God - children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.
