Click here The search for peace is something that has been a goal of every generation of men, women and children.  Peace can be one of the most elusive things in the world because true peace, peace that lasts, peace that endures: that peace does not come from the world.  True peace can only be received from the one who created it . . . God himself.  God knows that we desire lasting peace in our hearts.  He sent his prophet Isaiah to speak about peace:

  If only you had paid attention to my commands, your peace would have been like a river, your righteousness like the waves of the sea. Isaiah 48:18
When we do not keep all of God's commandments we rebel against God.  He has clearly told us in His Bible what he wants us to do but we do not read the Bible to understand his direction.  1John says this: This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.  1 John 5:2-5
Our refusal to obey God on His terms is called sin and results in our being separated from God. But yet God loves us in spite of our rebellion against Him so He gave us one last way out.  While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.  Jesus became sin for us and died on the cross to cancel our unpayable sin debt to God, in full, and once and for all time.  And what is our part in this?  What is it we must do? "But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in his name." John 1:12
To receive Christ you must:

1.  Admit your need (God, I am a sinner)
2.  Be willing to turn from your sin. (repent)
3.  Believe that Christ died for you and rose from the dead.
4.  Through prayer, cry out to God and ask Jesus into your life.  Ask him to help you change.
