We do this with gentleness and respect, knowing that we will mess up at times but also knowing that if God had waited until we were perfect we would never have gone out in the first place.  God is in the business of using ordinary people to bring his forgiveness and hope and joy to those searching with all their hearts for the Peace that lasts. Jesus did not require (service was voluntary) multi-titled graduates from the best divinity schools in the land of Israel to proclaim a technical message so complex that only a few could understand and pass it on to others.  God originally entrusted the message of His desire to be reconciled to all men, women and children through His one and only Son -  Jesus Christ - to ordinary men who became His disciples: fishermen and tax collectors and political activists.  In a short time He also called a former church persecutor named Paul and other ordinary men and women who, by faith alone, become bearers of his joyous message of reconciliation and hope to the very ends of the earth. And, he has called ordinary people like Ray and Joan to this same wonderful work that is, at times, frustrating, difficult, inconvenient and even dangerous but interwoven with times of great joy as well as enduring peace.
